about us

Helping SMEs and social enterprises build the digital capacity to grow.

Remote Deputy provides SMEs and social enterprises across Africa and the Americas with remote administrative support, digital tools, and hands-on help to run and grow.

We handle the practical work many organizations do not have the staff, time, or technical capacity to manage—from customer service, scheduling, research, and recordkeeping to websites, content, digital setup, and everyday operations.

Remote Deputy is the next stage of DearHelpdesk, a social enterprise blueprint created by the Birthright Project to expand digital access for the millions of SMEs and social enterprises overlooked by mainstream technology and enterprise-support systems—the other 1%.

In August 2026, Birthright Ventures acquired Remote Deputy and brought its technology, operating systems, brand, and intellectual property into this work. The acquisition gives DearHelpdesk an established platform through which to support more organizations, train more remote deputies, and build a practical digital-support system for SMEs and social enterprises.

Remote Deputy is operated as a digital social enterprise experiment of the Birthright Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our goal is direct: help SMEs and social enterprises gain the people, tools, and digital capacity they need to participate in the future economy.
